FAQ

  • Who do you work with?

Agencies, production companies, directors, editors, and artists worldwide.

Color grading is the core service. We also support selected post production tasks such as conform, online finishing, QC, and delivery preparation where appropriate.

  • What is your process?

Discovery → Project Estimate → First Pass → Reviews → Master Delivery

    Discovery
You share the brief, references, runtime, timeline, and delivery requirements.

    Project Estimate
We confirm scope, deliverables, schedule, and fees. A deposit reserves the grading slot.

    First Pass
Once the deposit and all required assets are received, we deliver a complete first graded version.

    Reviews
Feedback is handled via Frame.io using consolidated notes.

    Master Delivery
Final masters and versions listed in the Project Estimate are delivered.

  • What should I supply for grading?

    Preferred for maximum flexibility:

    - Source media
    - XML, AAF, EDL or DRT
    - Reference offline export for checking

If needed, we can also work from a high quality ProRes or DNx master, depending on the job.

Use our Grade Prep Guide if you are unsure. We can advise before you export.

  • What deliverables can you supply?

Deliverables are defined in the Project Estimate. Common outputs include:

    - ProRes master
    - H.264 review files
    - Social versions and cutdowns (when supplied as part of the job)
    - Basic deliverable versioning where required

If you need multiple platforms, aspect ratios, or extensive versioning, include that in the brief so it can be scoped properly.

  • Do you offer supervised sessions?

    Yes, subject to scheduling.

Supervised sessions can be remote and are typically used for:

    - Live creative direction during the grade
    - Agency or brand reviews
    - Final sign off and approvals

Supervised time is billed separately and will be confirmed in the Project Estimate.

  • How do revisions work?

Unless otherwise stated in the Project Estimate:

    - One full first pass is included
    - Two rounds of consolidated notes are included

Additional revisions are billed as additional grading time.

Important: new edits, new shots, or significant creative direction changes after approval are scope changes and may require additional grading days.

  • What’s your pricing structure?

Projects are priced based on estimated grading days, not fixed packages.

Once scope, runtime, and complexity are reviewed, we issue a Project Estimate outlining:

    - Number of grading days
    - Deliverables
    - Timeline
    - Total project fee

This approach keeps pricing transparent and avoids scope confusion.

  • How fast is turnaround?

Turnaround depends on runtime, complexity, and schedule availability.

Once the deposit and assets are received, a realistic delivery timeline is confirmed in the Project Estimate.

Rush or out of hours work may be available by request and is subject to additional fees.

  • What other post production services do you offer?

Alongside color grading, we may support:

    - Post production supervision
    - Conform and online finishing
    - Editorial support and online edits
    - Data wrangling and media preparation
    - Technical QC and delivery preparation
    - Look development and color pipeline consulting

These services are quoted separately based on scope and availability.

  • How do booking and payment work?

A deposit is required to reserve the grading slot.

Final masters are released once full payment has been received, as outlined in the Project Estimate.

Accepted payment methods include direct bank transfer (UK / Malaysia) and Wise (international). Alternative currencies can be quoted on request.

  • What happens if timelines change?

If delivery of assets or feedback is delayed, schedules may shift depending on availability.

Scope changes or re cuts may require additional grading days and a revised Project Estimate.

  • How long do you keep project files?

Working files are retained for 30 days after final delivery.

Retrieval after this period is handled on a best effort basis and may incur a handling fee. Long term archiving is not guaranteed unless agreed in writing.

  • Do you offer NDAs and secure file transfer?

    Yes.

Secure upload links are provided, and NDAs can be signed where required. Client security protocols can be accommodated when shared in advance.

  • Why does the grade look different on different screens?

Grading is performed on calibrated systems in controlled environments.

Uncalibrated displays interpret color differently, so absolute visual matching across all devices cannot be guaranteed. We will advise on best practice delivery formats for your intended use.

  • Can you use the work in your portfolio?

Unless otherwise agreed, we may showcase frames or short breakdowns for portfolio and social use.

    Standard credit is:
    Color by Khalif Sultan (@khalifsultan_)

If portfolio use is restricted, this should be discussed in advance as it may affect scheduling or fees.

  • Do you work with international clients?

Yes. We are UK based and work globally.

Meetings and reviews can be scheduled across time zones using shared calendar availability.

  • What is not included by default?

Unless specified in the Project Estimate, the following are not included:

    - Sound mixing
    - VFX work
    - Editorial changes

We can recommend trusted partners if required.

  • How do we get started?

Send your brief, runtime, reference links, and deadlines.

We will review the project, advise on scope, and issue a Project Estimate.

Once the deposit is paid and assets are delivered, your grading slot is confirmed.
