FAQ

  • What’s your process for working on a project?

My workflow goes like this: Discovery → Proposal → Grades → Reviews → Final Delivery. Once we chat and confirm scope, I’ll send you an intake form and conform guide. After the deposit is paid, we’ll set up a shared FrameIO folder and begin grading. Two rounds of revisions are included.

  • How should I prepare my files for color grading?

Look at the Conform Prep Guide which walks you through everything. I prefer working from source media, but I also accept high-res master files if needed. If you’re ever unsure, just ask—I’m here to help you get it right.

  • What’s your turnaround time?

A typical grade takes at least one full day. If you’re on a tight deadline, I offer rush services (+20% for 24-hour turnaround, +30% on weekends/public holidays). I’ll always let you know upfront if a rush fee applies.

  • What’s your pricing structure?

My base rate is £450/day, which includes two rounds of revisions. Additional revisions are +25% per version. I also offer flat-fee quotes for longer pieces and creative add-ons like custom LUTs, test grades, or conforming.

Full rate info is here: https://thepalettepost.com/rates

  • Do you offer test grades?

Yes! Test grades are £50 and great for aligning early. I also offer look development and annotated references if you’re still defining your aesthetic.

  • What formats do you deliver in?

Finals are typically ProRes 4444 or 422HQ at your original resolution. Alternate formats are available on request.

  • How do revisions work?

You’ll receive the first version via FrameIO, where you can leave direct feedback. Two revision rounds are included. After that, each new version is billed at +25%.

  • What if I need help during prep?

I’m always happy to guide you. Whether you’re working in Premiere, Resolve, Avid, or Final Cut, the prep guide will walk you through your exact export steps. Still stuck? Just email me at hello@khalifsultan.com.

  • How do I get started?

Easy! book a call or shoot me a message on my email. From there, we’ll confirm scope and I’ll send over the intake form to get rolling.
