Strada GUIDE
This document outlines the exact steps required to use Strada when granting The Palette access to media drives.
Follow these instructions precisely. Deviations may result in access or transfer delays.
Purpose
Strada is used to provide remote access to existing media drives without uploading files to cloud storage.
No files are duplicated by default. Media remains on the original machine and is accessed live.
Use Strada when:
Media volumes are too large for cloud delivery
Deadlines do not allow full uploads
Selective access to source media is required
Scope and Limitations
Before proceeding, understand the following:
Strada is not cloud storage
Strada is not a backup system
Strada does not replace archival workflows
All media remains the responsibility of the drive owner.
System Requirements
Confirm all items below before setup:
macOS or Windows system
Stable internet connection (wired preferred)
Drives mounted and visible in Finder / File Explorer
Machine will remain powered on for the duration of access or transfer
If any requirement cannot be met, do not proceed.
Account Setup
Step 1: Create Account and Download Agent
Visit: https://strada.tech
Create an account
Download the Strada Agent for your system
Step 2: Install the Strada Agent
Install the Strada Agent like a standard application
When prompted, allow:
File access
Network access
The Agent must remain running at all times. If the Agent closes or the machine sleeps, access and transfers will stop.
Step 3: Access the Strada Web App
Use the web app to manage access and invitations:
Invite us with EDITOR permissions using:
hello@khalifsultan.com
Preparing Drives
Before sharing any media:
Ensure drive names are final and clearly labeled
Confirm folder structure is locked
Remove any media not intended for sharing
Only share folders required for the project.
Connecting Drives
Once the Agent is running:
Open the Strada interface
Locate mounted drives
Enable access for required folders only
No uploads occur. Access is live.
If a drive is unmounted or disconnected, it becomes unavailable immediately.
Supported Media
Strada supports most mounted drives, including:
External SSDs and HDDs
RAID systems
Camera media (SD cards, RED media)
Network volumes
Select cloud-mounted volumes (compatibility varies)
Notes:
RAW debayering is not supported
ProRes playback is supported
Performance depends on drive speed and network bandwidth
Permissions and Transfers
Access Rules
The Palette / Khalif Sultan is the primary account holder on the paid Strada plan
Only The Palette / Khalif Sultan can initiate and manage file transfers
Collaborators cannot initiate transfers unless they are also on a paid plan
Once connected, The Palette may:
Browse folders
Stream supported media
Download files
System access is limited strictly to shared folders.
Transfer Requirements
During any transfer:
Both the host and receiving machines must remain powered on
The Strada Agent must stay active
Sleep, shutdown, or network loss will terminate the transfer
Transfers must be restarted if interrupted.
Performance Guidelines
Transfer and playback performance depends on:
Host upload speed
Recipient download speed
Drive type (SSD, HDD, RAID)
Best practice:
Use ProRes or optimized media where possible
Request full-resolution media only when necessary
Best Practices
Keep machines awake and connected
Use wired internet whenever possible
Share the minimum required folders
The Palette will disconnect access to the drive/folder when access is no longer needed
📩 Troubleshooting
If access or transfers fail:
Confirm the Agent is running
Confirm the machine is awake
Confirm the drive is still mounted
If issues persist, contact us.
